BATTLE UPDATE: When “Doing Everything Right” Isn’t Enough — Will Needs Our Strength
There is a specific kind of heartbreak that happens when you fight with everything you have, only to watch the numbers move in the wrong direction. Last night, the medical monitors told a story of regression, but the real crisis is the one happening in Will’s spirit. We are at a breaking point, and we need your prayers more than ever.
Yesterday, Will was a warrior. Despite the crushing, constant waves of nausea, he followed every instruction to the letter. He forced himself to drink water—glass after glass—fighting his own body to help flush his kidneys. He did exactly what he was told. He did “everything right.“
But this morning, the news was a gut punch: His creatinine levels went up again.
The Crushing Weight of Uncertainty
In this long, grueling medical marathon, the emotional toll is starting to outweigh the physical. When you pour every ounce of your remaining energy into recovery and the results come back negative, the mental dip is profound.
We are now looking at at least two more days in the hospital—making this our longest stay to date. Will is exhausted. Not just “sleep-deprived” exhausted, but the kind of soul-weariness that comes from being trapped in a cycle of pain and hospital walls. His body is being treated by the best doctors, but his heart and spirit are under siege.
A Small Request for a “Normal” Moment
Right now, Will’s only escape from the reality of his illness is the world of Fortnite. It’s the one place where he isn’t a patient—he’s just a guy playing games with his friends. It’s his lifeline to the outside world and his own identity.
However, the hospital Wi-Fi is failing him. The lag makes it unplayable, and my phone hotspot isn’t strong enough to bridge the gap.
HELP NEEDED: If anyone has expertise or tips on reliable portable internet/hotspots that can penetrate thick hospital walls, please let us know. We are desperate to give him this one small piece of “normalcy” to help him keep fighting.
Tending to the Heart
I have to step away briefly today to handle a work crisis, so my mom will be taking over the watch. While the medical team focuses on his kidneys, we are focusing on his spirit. You can treat a body with medicine, but a heart needs hope, connection, and the knowledge that the world hasn’t forgotten you.
Please, don’t stop lifting him up. He is in the trenches right now, and the darkness is trying to settle in. We need your messages, your prayers, and your light to help lead him back to the surface.
The fight continues. We won’t let him give up.
