Ralph, Alabama – Will Roberts, a 14-year-old battling stage 4 osteosarcoma, has entered his longest hospital stay yet after his body reached toxicity levels from months of intensive chemotherapy. Doctors at MD Anderson in Houston had previously amputated Will’s lower left leg, re-attaching his ankle and foot to allow him to wear a prosthetic, and his treatment has been grueling.

Will’s parents, Jason and Brittney Roberts, shared that their son’s most recent chemo dose had to be halted to prevent permanent damage to his heart and kidneys. While this pause in treatment is necessary for Will’s safety, it has been a frightening setback, given the aggressive nature of his cancer. “We fully trust our healthcare providers and their decisions, but this one less dose not being thrown at his cancer is scary,” Brittney said.
Despite the challenges, the Roberts family remains positive and full of faith. Visits from friends, family, and classmates have lifted Will’s spirits during his extended stay. Daily prayers, cards, and small acts of kindness have provided comfort amid the uncertainty, reminding the family that they are not alone in this fight.
